Do you have a hard time maneuvering your grain cart when you have a large load? Maybe it’s time to try something new. Balzer Inc. has introduced a steering grain cart on tracks, a first for the agricultural equipment market, according to the company. The Field Floater 4 grain cart is capable of extremely fast unload rates, up to 1,090 bushels per minute.
The patent-pending steerable track system allows operators to turn as tightly as a tire with 10 degrees of turning radius. With four tracks per machine versus just two, it has an enormous footprint to spread out the weight and reduce compaction, according to the company. Hydraulic suspension comes standard on each model and ensures that weight is evenly distributed at all times.
The Field Floater 4 is available in black, green, red or yellow, with available capacities of 2,000, 1,550 or 1,325 bushels.
Each size comes standard with a 24-inch diameter unload auger system, including a hydraulic engagement clutch system on the horizontal auger. The Field Floater 4 also comes standard with an independent running gear and independently walking axle arrangements. Designers say these unique features make an intense load feel light and allow optimal maneuverability.
Balzer’s bi-directional unload auger spout adjusts in any direction. All of the functions of the Field Floater 4 can be controlled at one central location with the joy-stick control, and a state-of-the-art electronic scale system provides accurate data management.
Some other features include grease banks for axle and front auger assembly; halogen lights on discharge auger and grain tank; highway LED light/turn signal package; an automatic drive chain oiler; and 10-gauge steel tank construction.
