Ever taken a close look at a train, bus, or airline schedule? It’s not at the top of everyone’s reading list, but these timetables are a thing of perfection. Arrivals and departures are carefully orchestrated dances that rely on the utmost of precision.

Working as intended, it’s a thing of beauty. These timetables get you smoothly from point A to point B, no matter how many planes or trains you have to take before you end up at your final destination.

But with anything of precision, there can be complications when things go wrong. One plane that needs unexpected service can throw the entire schedule out of whack. Ask anyone who’s spent a few extra hours (or even a day) in an airport, they can tell you first-hand.

And when you’re on vacation and want to get to your destination, that lost time is something you can’t get back.
