I admit, I’m not the most elegant at changing gears in a tractor. And, on numerous occasions, my driving has sounded more like meat grinding than actual tractor movement.
Of course, today’s tractors offer the simplicity of a game console. So I was intrigued when reviewing this video of an in-cab demonstration of New Holland’s new T9 Series tractor equipped with SmartTrax tracks. But what I find most interesting is that critical tractor controls are as simple as a press of a button – and it’s not much bigger than the keys on your phone.
This is nothing new, I know. And today’s tractors are a far cry from the clutch in-change-clutch out phase of tractor driving. However, you do have to stop and marvel at just how much power you now control at your fingertips. All without the leg cramps.
Do you find fingertip controls easy to get used to?
