I have come to rely heavily on one application on my smartphone, and it’s not Twitter or Facebook. It’s my “local” weather app that can instantly link me to current weather conditions, predicted weather, as well as radar maps, severe weather alerts and sunrise/sunset times.

It sure beats waiting on the local weather forecasts from traditional media sources and gives me critical information when I need it.

John Deere has gone one step further. The new John Deere Mobile Weather uses a third-party weather sensor that is connected to the John Deere Application Controller 1120 display. It provides instant weather information to allow you to make those often critical weather-timed farming decisions.

A video showing the features of the unit is available here.

So what weather app do you use?
