Equipment producers are expected to debut a host of high-horsepower tractor innovations for 2015, and one familiar name seems ahead of the pack.

John Deere has unveiled the first look at its 9R/9RT series machines, which include a “complete lineup of 4WD and tracked tractors loaded with power and versatility to help you be more productive and efficient,” according to the company.

Some specifications include:
• An engine horsepower range from 370-620
• Up to 20,000-pound hitch-lift capacity
• Up to 115 gallons-per-mile hydraulic flow

“The 9R/9RT Series Tractors welcome any challenge,” John Deere reports. “With the addition of a new 620-engine horsepower model and a 10-engine horsepower increase across all models, these machines have the get-up-and-go you need.”

All 9R/9RT models come equipped with FT4-engine technology for fluid economy and performance. They also have an improved e18™ PowerShiftTransmission with Efficiency Manager.

The company has also improved cab comfort with these new designs. John Deere says the cab is the “roomiest, most well-equipped, and technologically advanced cab on the market,” and has industry-leading visibility with a 40-degree right-hand seat swivel.

Also, “…the newly redesigned CommandARM™ is as convenient as it is intuitive. The 4600 CommandCenter Display lets you easily see and control major machine functions including AutoTrac™. An integrated refrigerator option and great sound quality add to this cab’s appeal,” says Deere.

Farm Industry News calls the 9R/9RT series “a brute of a tractor.”

“The new 9R series includes 10 models ranging from the 9370R with 370 engine horsepower to the 9620R Scraper special at 620 rated horsepower. The 9620R is now the biggest four-wheel drive tractor offered on the market and offers users the new CommandView Cab III interior that brings it in line with the 6R, 7R and 8R series machines, which means an operator moving from machine to machine would find themselves in a similar environment.”
